We all have our favorite salsa out there, but this is by far one of the most flavorful and easy recipe! You just chop and drop! People are always looking for ways to eat a little more healthy without loosing flavor! This is something that you can serve with your favorite dipping vegetable or your favorite dipping chip. I prefer the tortilla scoops or plantain chips.
I made this one night when I had a few girlfriends over for a girls night, this was a huge hit! It is so easy and everyone was shocked when I told them I made it earlier that day. You should let it sit in the fridge for a few hours prior to serving to be sure all of the flavors mix together nicely. The longer you let it sit, the more flavorful it will be.
Since we are all home during this time, you can make this simple recipe with your kids. They don’t have to do a small chop of the vegetables since you will be adding them into the food processor. Since this year Cinco de Mayo falls on Taco Tuesday, this will be a great addition to dinner! I know so many people are deciding to cook at home more. Salsa is something that is easy to just pick up a jar and go. But this is so worth the extra 15 minutes it takes to make it. Yes, that’s right, it only takes 15 minutes to make. Plus, what jar of salsa will continue to gain flavor once it’s open??
Adding this salsa to your eggs in the morning for breakfast is also a winner! Eggs are a great breakfast every morning, but lets be honest, eating plain eggs can get pretty boring and bland after a while! So spicing it up with some fresh salsa and a few slices of avocado will make this breakfast one to look forward too!
I added a little red pepper in there just to add a little different of flavor then your typical Saturday night snack salsa! After trying this, you will never want to go back to store bought salsa! Especially once you figure out that canning it and adding it as a pantry staple is super simple as well!
There are so many different ways to make this, if you don’t have fresh tomatoes, you an also use canned tomatoes. You can roast the tomatoes, peppers, garlic and onion for a “roasted” flavored salsa. I have also mixed this with my crockpot shredded chicken recipe.
