Have you ever had a cookie that you just could not get enough of? For me, that is the cookie that everyone loves! The Soft Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie!
When made properly, this cookie is irresistible! Especially when it is just a few minutes out of the oven! That’s when they are the best! However, these are still the most wonderful thing on earth once they have cooled as well! Try this recipe and you will see that baking is nothing to be scared of! Only thing is, you should be sure to measure out your ingredients, instead of just dumping!
Just a warning, if you do not plan to eat a few, then just stay away! Once you start, it is hard to stop! This recipe has a TON of your favorite chocolate chips in it. It also has butter, if you know me, you know I LOVE butter! I mean, butter makes everything better, right?
When I make these, I used my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I just love how easy it is to use. Especially when you are working with cookie dough and sometimes, you just need the muscle behind the mixing! If you are looking for one, here is the one I recommend! And of course, I love color, so I have the red!
After baking cookies for years and years, I have finally perfected my Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe to be my go-to! I have found one of the keys to making this recipe so successful is melting the butter, just a little, as the oven is pre-heating.
I also use these cookie sheets. I think having a good cookies sheet is also key! Even though I use parchment paper, you still need a good baking sheet.
That’s enough talking…….so let’s get to baking! I can’t wait to hear how they turn out for you!
Amazing Chewy, Buttery, Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted butter softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 3 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350. While the oven is preheating, go ahead and line a few trays with your favorite baking paper.
- Put the butter in a metal bowl and place it in the preheating oven. Leave it in until the butter starts to melt around the outsides. Take out and let it cool.
- As your butter is cooling in a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt together and fluff the mixture.
- Once the butter has cooled, add both the sugars and beat together until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla and the eggs, beating between each addition and until mixed.
- Add your flour mixture a little at a time and beat on a low speed until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until mixed together.
- Take a spoon full of your liking of the cookie dough and drop it on the baking sheets.
- Bake one tray at a time for 11-13 minutes. You will have to play around with the timing depending on the size of your cookies.
- Bake until just browned around the edges, then let them cool for 2-4 minutes on the cookie tray, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Makes about 3 dozen depending on the size of your cookie.
